Grant and Cooperative Agreement Compliance Course (Basic Assistance)
Our Basic Assistance course is designed to provide participants with a basic understanding of USAID rules, regulations, and procedures associated with grants and cooperative agreements.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will:

Be familiar with the rules, regulations, and policies that govern the assistance process, including: 2 CFR 200, ADS 303, Standard Provisions, and Recipient/Organizational policies;

Understand the USAID assistance lifecycle and the types of assistance awards utilized by the agency;

Understand the roles and responsibilities involved in the assistance process at USAID;
-
Understand post-award compliance requirements, including: budget revisions and prior approvals, reporting, branding and marking, environmental, personnel, cost share, and financial management requirements;

Learn best practices for subaward management; and
-
Be familiar with audit and record-keeping requirements.
Advanced Elements in Assistance
(Advanced Assistance)
Our Advanced Assistance course is designed to build upon participants’ existing understanding of assistance process at USAID.
The course curriculum is focused on advanced post-award compliance issues, new guidance on renewal awards and specific conditions, and the expanded substantial involvement options permitted to USAID.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants will:

Understand the legal framework that governs the assistance process;

Be familiar with all recent updates to ADS 303 and ADS 308;

Be able to identify the different types of assistance awards and the appropriate uses for each;
-
Better understand the roles, responsibilities, and limitations of the parties to an assistance award;

Have a practical understanding of best practices for managing assistance award administration issues; and
-
Have a working knowledge of the new requirements for awards to Public International Organizations (PIOs).
